I ordered a portrait of my sister, her husband, and their dog from Ian Wright as a Christmas present since they have recently moved into their first home. Ian was very helpful throughout the entire process suggesting different ways to make the portrait as stunning and beautiful as possible. The portrait was inspired by a photo taken of the trio as they were relaxing on a dock in the outback of northern Ontario. Ian's art really shone through in doing justice to that picture perfect moment. ​

​He was also willing to revise the portrait as needed until we were both satisfied with the results. All in all, the newlywed couple were extremely happy when they opened their gift and admired it with a joyful tear in their eyes as they commented on how perfect the painting was. ​Ian Wright has been creating vibrant and energetic watercolours for over 20 years. Landscapes of familiar places is his favourite theme, to bring the viewer into the painting and experience the settings they know and love, in an impressionistic and vibrant tone. The goal of the work, is to allow the viewer a second glance at scenes taken for granted. To bring alive, and to enhance the landscape of every day life.

​Ian Wright is also VP of the International Watercolour Society of Canada. An excellent organization for anyone wishing to connect with other local watercolour painters, present their work in gallery events, and develop their skills.
